What is PGS?
More Than Mountain Biking
Panhandle Gravity Squad was founded on a simple belief: mountain biking can change lives.
What started as a passion for riding has grown into a youth gravity mountain bike program dedicated to building confident riders, strong leaders, and an inclusive community across North Idaho.
At PGS, we believe success isn't measured by podiums alone. It's measured by the confidence a rider gains after conquering a difficult trail, the friendships built around campfires and race weekends, and the respect shown to teammates, volunteers, and the trails we ride.
Our riders train in enduro and downhill mountain biking through structured coaching, race support, trail work, camps, and community events. Every session is designed to develop safe riding skills while encouraging independence, leadership, resilience, and a lifelong love of mountain biking.
Whether a rider dreams of standing on a national podium or simply wants to become more confident on the trail, everyone is welcomed, supported, and challenged to become the best version of themselves.
We're more than a race team.
We're a family built around bikes.
PGS Isn’t just a team, it’s a community movement to grow gravity mountain biking in the idaho panhandle.
By joining, families are investing in each rider’s skills, confidence, and future opportunities both on the bike and beyond.
Meet the Instructor
I’m Shaun, aka Mr. Faffer- a racer, coach, community builder and the guy behind Panhandle Gravity Squad. What started as me getting completely hooked on mountain bikes has turned into helping others find that same stoke. I coach kids, adults, and race as much as I can. I help in the community and spend a lot of time creating opportunities for people to become more confident and capable on a bike. Mostly, I just believe bikes should be fun and everything else grows from there.
